A little about me
My name is Pierre-Alexandre, but I go by Lex, mostly because Americans looked at my full name like it was a Wi-Fi password. After years of hearing “Peer-Al-Ex-Andry?” and “Pee-ree Alex-something,” I gave up and simplified. You’re welcome. I’m a Frenchman raised in Washington, DC, and currently writing, making music, and occasionally running from cultural confusion.
This site is where I share the stuff I create: books, songs, and whatever else I manage to finish before changing my mind.
My first book, Pootine and Punishment, comes out this July. It’s an accurate, maybe slightly exaggerated, account of all the nonsense I went through during my year in Canada. Yes, it’s funny. No, I still haven’t recovered.
I also just released my first song, City of Dreams — a love letter to Paris Saint-Germain. Even though I grew up in the US, PSG has always been my team. Win or lose (and let’s be honest, it’s usually pretty dramatic), they’ve been part of my identity longer than most people in my contacts list. This year, something clicked: the form, the fire, the feeling — and I felt inspired. So I wrote the song in English, because hey, this is America… and we love PSG too. Maybe not always out loud, but deep down, in that unshakeable belief that this year could be the year.
More music is on the way, assuming I don’t delete it in a fit of artistic overthinking.
Thanks for stopping by. Look around, listen, read — and if you hate it, at least I didn’t force you to subscribe.
